Wondering about God?
Dallas Barnhartvale is made up of people who came to a place in their life where they realized they needed forgiveness from God and they found that forgiveness and reconciliation with God in Jesus Christ! Our mission is to help you come to know God the same way.
Many people think that reconciliation with the God who made them happens through doing certain rituals and good acts of service. The Bible teaches that mankind has always tended to think that God changes His mind about us and accepts us because he sees our good deeds. These good deeds take on many shapes and sizes. It can be praying more, helping someone who can’t help themselves, being moral and/or doing things that are unselfish. But, the Bible teaches the opposite. It says there is only one way to be reconciled with God.
God loves us and made us to have fellowship with him.
God made us to enjoy Him and have fellowship with Him forever. Because of God’s love for all persons, He desires that you have unbroken fellowship with Him. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:4-5)
We sinned against God
All persons are “sinners” in that they disobey God. Sin is choosing to go your own way and do your own thing as opposed to being obedient to God.(Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10)
Sin separates us from God
Sin forms a barrier that prevents you from entering into unbroken fellowship with God, Who is holy. As an unholy sinner, you can’t have fellowship with God. You are headed for a Christless eternity that the Bible calls Hell. (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23)
We can't save ourselves
People often think that through their efforts they can overcome the sin barrier between themselves and God. That isn’t true. There’s nothing you can do to restore the broken relationship with God. You can’t earn God’s salvation. Trying to earn God’s salvation by doing good is like a convicted murderer asking to go free because he just helped an old lady across the street. There is not a good act we can commit to make us acceptable to God. There is only one thing that can be done to set us free from this condition. But, it is not something we do. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 4:4-5)
God sent His son Jesus Christ to remove our sin barrier
What you cannot do for yourself, Jesus Christ has done for you! Your sin is a barrier between you and God. But the Good News is that Jesus died on the cross for you as a payment for your sin to God. Jesus then rose from the dead defeating death and hell for us. By taking your punishment on Himself, Jesus made a way for relationship with God. (1 Peter 2:23; Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 10:9)
We receive Jesus Christ through faith
Faith is trusting in what Jesus has done for you rather than trusting your own efforts to restore fellowship with God. Faith is complete reliance on Christ to put you in right relationship with God, allowing Him to live His life through you. Faith also involves repentance or genuine sorrow for sin and willingness to turn away from sin. To trust Jesus means to believe that He is who He claimed to be and to accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior. (John 14:6; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10)
Through prayer we place our trust in Jesus Christ
Admit to God that you are a sinner. Express sorrow or repentance for your sinfulness. Ask Him to forgive your sins. Invite Jesus into your life as Savior and Lord. Commit yourself to live for Him.
